Our first letter to Jaina - Mae Glino

Dear Jaina-Mae,

This is our first letter to you. We want to introduce our association, so you can imagine who we are. We are a group of german and philippin friends. On the photo you can see some of our members, men, women and of course children.
We meet one day a week, we talk about our families, we eat and drink and some times we play some games and we always have much fun.

I know, these are too much names for the first time, so I will only tell you something about some of them. In our next letter I will give you more information about the others. So, at first Werner is our president and Isabel is his wife. She is cooking often for all of us, for example a very good pansit. Kathrin is 14 years old, she likes music, dancing and she plays sometimes with her brother Justin. Their mother is Josephine. I think that is enough for the first time, more the next time.

We all live in Germany (Deutschland) in a town called Dortmund. You can see our land on the map. You see it’s a very long way from us to you.
In Germany we have winter now, so it is very cold and some days we have snow. For our children that mean they have fun and some times they even can build a snowman. But we have to wear thick pullovers, long trousers and coats. Can you imagine that in your nice, warm country?
And at the end some questions from us to you:
Tell us something about your favourite games and your friends. What do you like at school?
We have seen a photo from you and your uncle, on which you look very nice, so tell us something about your family, please.

Lieber DPF,

zunächst einmal möchte ich euch zusammen mit eurem Familienkreis herzlich grüssen und einen schönen Tag wünschen.

Wie geht`s euch denn zurzeit? Ich hoffe, wenn ihr meinen Brief erhaltet, dass bei euch momentan alles in Ordnung ist und ihr gesund seid.
Ihr habt nach Jaina Mae`s Befinden und dem unserer Familie gefragt, uns geht’s gut mit Gottes Hilfe. Ich bin Susan Glino, 43 Jahre alt und die Tante von Jaina Mae. Ich bin diejenige, die euch schreibt, da Jaina Mae nicht so gut schreiben kann, denn sie ist erst 8 Jahre alt und in der Schule in der 2.Klasse. Sie lebt bei uns, weil ihre Eltern getrennt sind. Mein Mann arbeitet zugleich als Farmer und Fischer. Ich bin Barangay und arbeite als Sekretärin und zugleich Gemeindehelferin.
Jaina Mae spielt sehr gerne mit ihrer Klassenkameradin. Auch spielt sie gerne Ball und einige andere Spiele.

Herzlichen Dank, dass ihr meine Nichte als Patenkind ausgewählt habt.
